What is balance?

One of the Super Bowl commercials said, “Balance isn’t found, it’s created.” I thought that was pretty awesome!

So many people say they are looking for balance, but fail to realize that it starts with perception. If you are OK with your choices, you have created balance.

Balance isn’t about what you ate today. Balance is about how you feel about your choices as a whole. If you can’t find a happy place between relaxing boundaries and discipline, then it is time to address the reasons you feel that way and change your perception. Once that happens, you can change the behavior. Otherwise you will always be searching, but never creating the balance you want.

That being said, who ate all the things? And who is ready for 100% tomorrow? I enjoyed my on-plan steak, but that didn’t mean that seven-layer dip and magic cookie bars didn’t happen, because they did! That stuff is definitely a “less than” food in my house. It’s so hard to stop eating it! Back on track for me tomorrow. No compensation cardio on the schedule. Just back to doing what I do. That’s my version of balance.
