Traditional Push Ups vs. TRX Push Ups

Want to know how much of a difference there is between these two exercises? So did a couple of researchers at Arizona State University. See below for more info.

The researchers had 21 healthy men and women participate in the study. The subjects had electrodes attached to their chest, triceps and front delts to measure muscle activity. Basically, they did this to see if one the exercises stimulated each muscle to a greater degree.

What they found was that TRX push ups lead to significantly greater activation in the chest, triceps, and front delts. Therefore, if you’re looking for a greater challenge then you may want to try doing TRX push ups.
