Thoughts on Intermittent Fasting

January 17th, 2014 by

I think that intermittent fasting is simply a way to control overall calorie intake of the course of a day or week (depending on whether you were to use the 16:8 or alternate day fasting).

Some people happen to find it more convenient to eat this way which allows them to be more nutritionally compliant and thereby experience results that they were previously unable to achieve because their compliance was not ideal.

Outside of that though, I don’t think that there is anything inherently special or magical about fasting.

If it works for you, fantastic. But you most certainly don’t need to start fasting just because it happens be convenient or preferable for someone else.

Meal frequency is largely a matter of personal preference.
