The Power of Social Support

Who you spend most of your time with will shape your outlook and your mindset.

If you’re starting out on a a lifestyle change you’ll definitely find it difficult if you’re surrounded with people who are either unsupportive or just don’t understand your decision to change and the effort it takes.

The research on social support is pretty clear and if you don’t have any, you’ll undoubtedly have a tougher time making a permanent change.

My suggestion?

Reach out to those in your gym who might be looking for the same thing and make a connection. While this might seem awkward, I’m relatively certain that if you’re looking for a fitness minded friend for support there have got to be many others looking for the same.
