Self Control As Freedom

Of course we all have the privilege the privilege to choose what we will do and what we won’t do but self control is something that everyone needs to develop. How? By using it, just like we’d train to develop a better and healthier body.

Exercising self control is a form of freedom, not a type of bondage or ‘prison’. It’s similar to how we’ve talked about the fact that it’s not that you CAN’T eat this or that, it’s that you’re in control and YOU are making the CHOICE not to. You don’t have to do what you feel like doing. You’re free to do what you know is wise or should be doing.

Discipline and self control will help you be what you say you want to be, but never will be without the help of self control.

Practicing self control will also help you feel better about yourself, you’ll have more self respect, you’ll feel more like a victor than you will a victim. Not only that, you’ll also have more energy when you don’t always allow your emotions or impulses to control you. Emotional ups and downs can zap your energy – I am sure we all can relate with how draining it can be.

Self control – start training it and watch it develop
