One Step From Stupid

We’re pretty much all one step from stupid. But here’s the thing – it’s our response to foolishness or our response to mistakes that’s going to determine just how foolish they were or how big a mistake it was.

Some people can make a little mistake, but they respond “wrongly” and the next thing they know their little mistake becomes rather big; not so much because of what they did, but more so because of their response to what they did.

Contrast that to others who can minimize the effects of those foolish mistakes by the right response. It’s not always simply what you’ve done, it’s also how you respond to what you’ve done. It’s not just your action, it’s your reaction.

You ARE going to do something stupid. You just will. But it’s your RESPONSE that will minimize the effects of that mistake.
