So this is my myofascial release/self-massage tool for my back.

Lying on the floor, one ball goes on either side of the spine and then you roll up and down to allow them to press into the muscles there.

Though I’m still a fan of using a foam roller to roll out the upper back (a.k.a. the thoracic region), I find that this gets much deeper into the muscles closer to the spine.

If you don’t happen to have a specially designed tool for this, you can try putting two tennis balls in a sock and doing the same thing.

If your back is tight and you feel as though your paraspinals could use a massage, this is definitely worth a try.
