How to be Coachable

To be coachable you have to be “approachable”; You have to let people come into your life, talk into your life, allow people to tell you what you may need to hear which is not always what you may want to hear.

When you think of a person who is not coachable, you think of a person who is unwilling to listen, and/or correct his or her mistakes in order to get better. They’re close-minded.

But when you think of a coachable and approachable person, you know they know you’re there not to hurt them, but to help them.

It’s like a surgeon – a little hurt today is worth it for a lot of help tomorrow.

Teachability is a mindset that says, “No matter how much I know (or think I know), what can I learn from this?”
