Today I went to an Apple Festival with 60,000 people, apple pie, apple fritters, apple strudel, apple cider, apple donuts, apple cheesecake, handmade sourdough pretzels, pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, pizza, funnel cakes, and on and on.

And, even though my mother will never full understand my goals of competing in “Body Fitness Matches” as she calls them, and tried to get me to “just have a bite” of at least 20 foods, I decided before I went, that there would be absolutely no off plan eating.

Was I miserable? NO.
Was I bitter? NO.
I had a really good time with my kids and family, enjoyed watching every one else eat either faces off (and then get bellyaches LOL) and then got back in my car and ate my 85g of chicken and some rice cakes that I subbed out for my carb.

No one forces anyone to compete or even diet for that matter- it is a choice made to pursue goals. Therefore, there’s no reason to be upset with anyone, act bitter or resent being around others enjoying treats that I’m not eating right now.

Embrace your goals, and stick by them!
