Commit In Spite Of Feelings
It may be your feelings that drive you to make a commitment, but it is ultimately that commitment that is going to need to carry you on in spite of the feelings you may have after the fact.
All too often in society today people fail to succeed at various things because they allow their feelings to drive their decisions instead of the commitments they’ve made. This is the case in everything from fitness plans, to careers, to marriages.
If you want to succeed, you cannot expect for your feelings that sustain the commitment. If you’re hoping for that, you’re going to fail before you even get out of the blocks.
When you commit to something, you commit IN SPITE OF feelings that might lead you to do otherwise.
Despite the popular advice to do what you feel like or “just follow your heart” it is important to remember that the heart can be fickle and you can’t always follow it. Sometimes you have to lead it to get where you want to go.
