Business tip for trainers and coaches – don’t lessen the value of your services

Here’s a business tip for other trainers and coaches out there …

The first clue that a trainer is in need of clients/business? They start posting and offering discounts and promotions on their services.

Think about it; if you’re operating with a full or nearly full client roster you have no room to add clients under a promotion since you’re already really busy servicing people.

So that’s the first thing that pops into my head – “hey, you’re not busy and need business.”

As a company who has never, nor will ever do this, and is in continuously high demand with a waiting list regardless, here’s my advice to all you trainers and coaches out there:

Do not ever DISCOUNT or lessen the value of your services (for the above mentioned reason). Do not devalue what you offer people and that’s all a discount/promotion does – devalues your service. You obviously originally felt it was worth more than your discounted price. Is it no longer? Believe you’re worth every penny you charge. I do.

If you’re going to do anything ADD VALUE to what someone gets in your service. Perhaps you provide more tools, more features, access to different things, etc., (it could be anything) that other trainers don’t. I know that I have had numerous things in place that many people have subsequently ended up copying for their own business because they too saw the added value that it offers their clients. Do not discount. Add value!

If you’re good, people will find you, and people will pay you what you’re worth, trust me.
