Bulking and Excess Fat Gain

The cooler fall and winter months are often the time when more people are inclined to enter a muscle building phase.

Remember though that any calories consumed in excess of what it takes to build muscle are just going to be turned to fat that you’re ultimately going to have to burn off later.

A building phase is a period where you should eat slightly above maintenance to see a slow and progressive gain in body weight over several months.

It is not a license to eat as much of whatever food as you like…unless, of course, your goal is to also pile on a ton of body fat too.
