Build self-confidence by focusing on your success

March 21st, 2014 by

Confidence is built upon the experience of success. When we begin anything new, we usually have very little confidence because we have not learned from experience that we can succeed. It is true that success breeds success. Winners focus on past successes and forget past failures. They use errors and mistakes as a way to learning — then they dismiss them from their minds.

Yet, what do many of us do? We destroy our self-confidence by remembering past failures and forgetting all about our past successes. We not only remember failures, we etch them into our minds with emotion. We condemn ourselves. Winners know that it doesn’t matter how many times they have failed in the past. What matters is their successes which should be remembered, reinforced, and dwelt upon.
