Balance: what it is versus what it is not

Good post from Jennie over at Curls & Whey Training regarding the term “balance” and what it is vs what it’s not.

I think the word BALANCE is often greatly misused.

If you are cheating on your diet 4-5 times in a week and tell me “I’m not perfect, just trying to stay balanced” and THEN go on to complain how bummed you are you didn’t see any progress, well I am sorry, but your definition of balance is warped.

Balance doesn’t mean you eat all your meals on plan and then dig into the ice cream or handfuls of M&M’s. How is that a healthy lifestyle?

Balance means enjoying what you are doing- your exercise regime and style of eating. It means changing your schedule to prioritize what is important to you. It means eating a variety of healthy foods without starvation, but the right amount according to your goals. It means enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner guilt free with your family because 99% of the rest of the time you are ON plan.

Define what you want for yourself and don’t use “I just want to be normal and eat those donuts regularly” as an excuse.
You either want it, or you don’t.
