Affirmation And Reflection

Previouusly I wrote a post about the power of words to influence your thoughts in a negative way.

However, I neglected to mention that your words can also shape your thoughts and experience in a positive way. When you speak out positive things about yourself, they too can begin to manifest in your life.

For me, I’ve created and read aloud my “personal manifesto” daily. It details not just the things that I currently like about myself (affirmations), but I actually speak out things about who I want to become in the present tense as though I am already that person.

As well as serving as a daily reflection of what is important in my life, I really believe that it sets the tone for my whole day.

Put the brakes on the words you speak that tear you down. But also replace them with words that will build you up and empower you. At first you just say them. Eventually you’ll start to believe them.

Those five minutes per day can change your life.
