Small Victories, Big Successes

Last week I had a client email me and state that she wasn’t going to be able to be solidly on plan for a couple days because she was going to be at a business meeting and didn’t want to “break out the Tupperware” in front of her boss.

I reminded her that she most certainly did not need to break out the Tupperware in front of her boss, but that this was the point at which she had a choice to make.

She could either make those days work within her plan or she would have to be accepting of the results of her decision to deviate from the plan (whatever those may be).

After several emails back and forth (and her probably not being really impressed with me at first) we worked through her day until we figured out how to make it work.

I was ecstatic when I got this email tonight:

“It was not easy but I survived my business meeting!!! I’m happy to report I was 100% compliant!!!”

Not only did she accomplish what she thought she couldn’t, but now she’ll have a new confidence going into similar situations in the future.

Small victories strung together over many months bring about big successes.
