Dealing With Haters

There is a lot of chatter on the internet about dealing with haters.

Of course, one common recommendation is to “get revenge” by living large and showing them how successful you’ve become.

But let’s be honest, most haters aren’t necessarily bad people. Many of them are just struggling with their own issues and taking it out on you. Most of them probably go home to lives that are very much like our own with friends and families they care about.

So…I’ve been thinking that maybe there is a better way. I’m thinking that rather than just showing them how successful you’ve become, when you get there you turn around and look that hater right in the face, extend a hand, and say “here…let me help you out”.

Why would you do that?

Because you are bigger than resentment, grudges, and bitterness. But also because that gesture might change their life. It might even influence the way they treat others and ultimately spread out from those people to impact even more people.

The reality is, they might still spit in your face or your kind gesture will stop with them. But the possibility of positively impacting so many lives really makes me wonder what would happen if more people did this.

Of course, this is all easier said than done. But I feel that might be a better goal to strive for than just leaving people in your dust.
