When it comes to fat loss, more is not always better

Fat loss should not be about eating as little food as possible while doing as much cardio as you can tolerate.

Rather, fat-loss should be about consuming as much food as possible while doing an appropriate amount of weight training and as little cardio as necessary that still allows you to lose fat.

The former may lead to more rapid initial weight loss, but will invariably result in an inability to sustain that as a lifestyle and ultimately gaining all the weight back.

The latter, while a bit slower initially, will allow you to enjoy more food, spend less time in the gym, and ultimately sustain the weight loss you achieve with a more realistic lifestyle.

The more severe the plan you take, the greater the rebound when you eventually deviate from that plan.
