I read somewhere once that happy people measure themselves by their
progress. So as long as they are making continual improvements they
are continually happy. On the other hand, unhappy people
measure themselves against the ideal. In this case they always fall short,
because in reality the ideal is a concept and not a tangible thing that
actually exists.
So in other words.. you can chase rainbows and sunsets and never catch
them but instead of focusing on where you aren't... you focus on
where you are and enjoy that.

However... I just went with my gut and ended up back at two
different gyms working around the calf injury. One gym has a Concept 2
Rower, which I was able to row with one leg until the other one was good
enough to throw up there as well... and the other gym was a
CrossFit gym. Hey I can do pullups like nobody's business.
After finding out that I tore my calf and hobbling around on crutches for
a few days.. then dragging my foot behind me for a week or
two... and putting myself on a liquid diet to offset the four
day drunken binge I went on.. all is right with the

Well.. things didn't go according to my grand plan.. my grand
vision.
On Friday I tore my calf muscle. It was the biggest surprise ever. I
was simply jumping rope and "pop" it felt like a horse kicked me.
Never saw it coming. Couldn't imagine this in a million years.
An MRI confirmed what the ER doc had already told me... torn calf and 4-6
weeks to heal. Appointment with an orthpedic doctor and a prescription of
physical therapy.
Over the weekend I was mulling over in my mind how I can come out of this
looking and smelling like a champ rather than a chump. Truth is: I am
chump all the way.

I stole that saying from somewhere. It's true.
In life there are negatives and positives. Always and with everything. It
is our choice with everything to decide how we want to live. In this sense
we become the creators of our reality.
That is why with this prep... I can only see good. I can only see
benefit. There are negatives of course and I could make a laundry list for
you. However, why would I want to? If I did that, I would be missing out on
the even longer laundry list of positives.
