Live from the 2008 NPC Junior Nationals

So we're about two hours out from the Round 1 prejudging here in Chicago. This place is buzzing with some incredible physiques. A a guy, you can't really come to a show like this and feel like much more than a swimmer. :lol: Lots of people here for this one. We're basically just cruising in for the one-piece this evening and then plan to fat load after this round tonight in order to nail it for tomorrow's two-piece round. So today, we've got normal water intake (no cutting), and some clean protein, carbs and fats at each meal leading up to the prejudging. Ultrasounds and the NPC Junior Nationals

How's that for a title eh? :lol: Nothing 'informative' here for you today, but I still wanted to post and share something with you. Yesterday was Laura's first ultrasound. This had to be one of the neatest experiences I can remember. For those of you parents out there, I'm sure you know the feeling I'm referring to. Wow. It was so cool to see a little baby ... with a hugantic melon for a head. :lol: I showed the printouts to my mom who without missing a beat said, "looks just like you Erik; big head". I didn't laugh. 2008 NPC Junior USAs - Some Friday Night Pictures

So I'm just going through the pictures on my camera, and realized I only took pictures on Friday night. :( Anyway, here are a few of them. We had a great weekend. Amy and Noel Lyn and Ileen Cindy and Elizabeth Laura had waited very patiently and was VERY excited when her food finally came. Noel's rapidly disappearing steak ... ... and cheesecake Amy's hair. Every time I went to take a picture, she'd hide behind her hair. Kevin and I had the same idea at the same time. 2008 NPC Junior USAs Recap

So the 2008 NPC Junior USAs has come and gone and it was a great show overall. If you've read Noel's blog you already know how she did - a huge improvement over last year's attempt at the national stage where she did not place in the top 18 in any of her 3 attempts. This year however, in the first show of the year, she's looking to be a contender. She placed 6th in her class, narrowly missing out on 5th by one point. Even better is that she placed 4th in the two-piece suit (and 6th in the one piece, netting her the 6th place overall finish).
