I talk a lot about nutrition being the key to successful fat loss and how weight training and/or cardio fall a distant second to nutrition when it comes to maximizing your results. I've also said many a time that you can't 'out exercise' a bad diet. I think most of us who've been in this game long enough share the same sentiments. Fat loss is all about nutrition. So if it's all about nutrition, that basically means it's all about nutritional compliance, or adherence to your plan. A plan is only as good as the degree to which it is followed. I've heard it said that plans don't fail, people do. I wouldn't go that far, as poorly designed plans... read more 3 comments
Mindset ... it's such an interesting thing, especially when it comes to nutrition/dieting, etc. I'm often reminded of the difference in people's mindsets when looking at client biweeklies. For the sake of example, I'll use myself at one end of the spectrum and a random female client at the other. So, I'm dieting right now. I'm about two months or so in and the good news is that one, I'm ahead of last year's pace and two, thanks to an unusually effective last two weeks, I'm leaner than I've been in a long time. Simply pick yourself
back up, get back on the horse, and don't look
back. Even once...

The tightly controlled eating, the 'saying no' to those
off plan

Bulgarian Squats?),
the always challenging interval workouts?
Obviously you're doing
this for a reason right? That reason being
that you want to get in
better shape, look better, feel better,
and so on.
That
goal certainly doesn't change I'm sure so why does motivation
sometimes start to dwindle? Is it lack of progress? In some cases
sure. But stop and look back to when you started on this endeavor.
I'm sure you look...
